On the heights in Ovronnaz, La Seya (2182 m) is home to a precious treasure.
A superb subalpine flora with more than 200 flower-varieties blossom here. Among them are particularly rare and protected species in Switzerland, including :
- Narcissus-flowered anemone
- White geranium
- Alp gentian
- Swiss rockjasmine
- Ascending lousewort
- Elderflower orchid
- Alpine pasque flower
Open from June to October, the “Mille Fleurs” botanical trail offers the opportunity to observe, identify and protect these species.

In partnership with Suisse Rando, Swiss Post has awarded its incentive prize 2018 to Ovronnaz’ “Mille Fleurs” botanical trail in La Seya.
A species identification leaflet is available for free at the tourist information office, the chairlift ticket office and at the thermal centre.
Along the trail, various QR codes can be scanned in order to find out more about a specific topic (fauna, flora, magazine info). Don’t forget to download a QR Code app.

La Seya is part of a landscape conservation area of cantonal importance. In order not to jeopardize the site, please observe the following rules:
At “la Croix à Camille”, the highest point of the trail, La Seya offers a unique panorama. The canton of Valais is at your feet, from the plains of the Rhône to the majestic Alpine summits.
Thirty-five peaks above 4000 metres can be seen from here, including Grand Chavalard, Petit Muveran and Haut de Cry.
